    We are seeking a skilled Regional Integration Expert to join our team at the African Development Bank. As a key member of our West Africa Region, you will play a vital role in shaping the continent's future by driving regional integration and economic growth.

    About the Role

    The Principal Regional Integration Coordinator will report directly to the Director of the Regional Integration Coordination Office. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the successful implementation of our Integrate Africa strategy, focusing on broadening engagement, building trusted partnerships, and accelerating regional projects.

    You will provide specialized advisory services on regional integration to our West Africa Regional Development and Business Delivery Offices, supporting Director Generals and Deputy Director Generals. Key responsibilities include designing regional integration strategy papers, leveraging regional integration in programmatic documents, monitoring the Integrate Africa portfolio, mobilizing concessional resources, and integrating trade facilitation and regional integration into large-scale infrastructure projects.

    As a key liaison between our department and other sector departments, such as transport, energy, water, and agriculture, you will work closely with regional program officers to develop a robust pipeline of transformative regional operations and public goods. Additionally, you will cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with key Regional Economic Communities (RECs) in West Africa, particularly the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

    With your expertise in regional integration, policy dialogue, infrastructure finance, and project management, you will support high-level policy dialogue with senior government officials and key stakeholders to advocate for and support our Integrate Africa initiatives. You will also represent us at regional and global forums, engaging with partners to accelerate utilization of the AfCFTA.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of a master's degree in Economics, International Relations/Trade, Law, Finance, Social or any other related international development fields.
    • A minimum of 6 years' relevant experience at increasingly technical levels, with a strong understanding of regional cooperation frameworks in Africa, especially in West Africa.
    • Demonstrated ability to take prudent business risks and make effective decisions.
    • Strong capacity to analyze actions from stakeholder perspectives and translate strategic thinking into compelling action plans.
    • Competence in the use of Bank standard software applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Collaboration Suites).
    • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) in English or French, preferably with a working knowledge of the other language.
